The unemployment rate for 2017 was 4.8% (in the republic - 4.9%).
As of January 1, 2018, 3153 unemployed citizens are registered with the employment services. The share of registered unemployed in the economically active population was 0.5%.
In 2017, 13656 new jobs were created in the region, including 6805 permanent ones.
In total, in the region, 57006 people applied to provide employment measures.
State targeted social assistance was assigned to 2723 low-income citizens living below the poverty line for a total amount of 82.1 million tenge.
The state allowance for children was assigned to 10,304 children in the amount of 183.6 million tenge.
Housing assistance assigned to 5463 low-income families totaling 124.9 million tenge.
The conditional monetary assistance in the framework of the project “Orleu” was assigned to 1,074 people in the total amount of 43.7 million tenge, including 16.4 million tenge from the republican budget.
7.229 billion tenge was allocated for the implementation of the Program for the Development of Productive Employment and Mass Entrepreneurship for 2017-2021:
In the first direction of the Program "Providing the participants of the Program with technical and vocational education and short-term professional training" KZT 0.641 billion was allocated:
- aimed at training personnel training with technical and vocational education, taking into account the needs of the labor market - 700 people (100% of the plan);
- short-term vocational training of workers on the professions and skills demanded in the labor market were 7128 people (against the plan of 5957 people)
In the second direction of the Program “Development of Mass Entrepreneurship”, KZT4.594 billion was allocated:
- 1369 people were trained in the basics of entrepreneurship under the “Bastau Business” project (against the plan of 1313 people);
- microcredits were provided for Program participants who plan to implement business projects for 781 Program participants (with a plan of 516 people). In addition, 46 microloans were issued through reinvestment.
In the third direction of the Program "Development of the labor market through the promotion of employment and mobility of labor resources" allocated 1.993 billion tenge.
933 social workplaces were created (the planned indicator is 523 people), 815 people were sent to youth practice (with a plan of 521 people), 504 people were employed in infrastructure projects (the plan was 295 people).
